A new material-- fish skin parchment and leather. Mostly salmon, but also catfish and char. Workshop at Morgan paper conservatory in Cleveland, Ohio, taught by Andrew Mancuso. A great place to learn about book and paper arts, and acquire handmade papers.
A bit messy in the cleaning and scraping stage, but is cheap, has beautiful patterns and minimal smell when processed (though my wife has a more sensitive nose). Maybe for bookbinding, maybe for light sculpture. New possibilities.
